I am still looking for the optimal configuration of categories in MegaEPG
I enjoy very much when the shows are sorted by categories, as in Hobbies/Cooking will show you all the food shows...
The thing is that i cannot find the absolut combiation of YES/HOT and Provider:Walla, Ynet, TvDay which will give the best sort.
Can anyone help here?
There is no absolute
There is no absolute combination. Every site (Walla, Ynet etc.) translates the show categories into their own set. The only solution is to always use just one provider - tv2day which has the richest categories list and do not mix few providers together.

Its wierd that you recommend on tv2day as the best category proider...
its tru that the categories are pleny there but almost no shows fit into them, try to look for all the food shows for example under Hobbies/Cooking and you'll find nothing there

I didn't say best, I said the richest :). Others have only something like "movie" "news" "kids" and "sport" and that's it. The problem of tv2day is that they have "too many" categories. The translation tables would be huge and I had no power to deal with all of them.

I am still fondeling around this item -
First I would not recommend using one privder, becasue seomtimes "no shows are found" for one and the next one can pick them up...
But, I would like to know if there is already a fix for the naming problems of other providers (beside tv2day) ? I am refering to the fact that the names continaed speciifc data such as "chpater 2" and that was problematic for MCE to record series

Can you make a complete list of categories you'd like to have? Then we can start mapping the complete list to the existing ones.

I am not sure if you got my problem correctly, let me repharse:
1) I am satisified with the categories list I have in MCE
2) I am not satisified with the fact that shows downloaded from TV2DAY are not related to categories (or very few) and therfore I cannot search for them under the categories search in MCE
3) The ynet provider though does have the shows related perfect to the categories BUT they are the show names are unique as in "sinefield - chapter 2" and therefore MCE cannot record series, casue next week it will be "seinfiled - shapter 3" and the strings don't match

1. Is there a reason you don't use the vista_he script? It has both categories division and episode division for series.
2. To make a complete TV2DAY categories mapping into MCE categories, I need a complete list of categories that exist in TV2DAY. I mapped ~60 categories most used categories (like movies,etc.) already but can't do them all. I expected to make the categories map complete with volunteers' help.
