Problems with russian TV2DAY script?

Lately I've been seeing a lot "Blank" shows\movies in the EPG.
I use the Russian version of TV2DAY as my main script and then Hebrew version as the secondary.
I've been getting blank spaces instead of actual shows on movie channels, series channels, 10, 2 and many others. I've been using an old version until now, the 0.9.11 and it worked fine.
There are also some channels where I get weird numbers in the show's name and description instead of readable text.
The biggest problem is that I can't set the computer to record these shows, MCE refuses to start recording them.

I now upgraded to 1.0.3, and waiting for the computer to redownload the whole EPG. Am I the only one or is this a common problem?
I'm using WinXP MCE 2005.

I'll update this post if there is a change or not with the new version

Let me check. I don't

Let me check. I don't believe the script has changed dramatically since then. I'll take a look.

Downloaded now Russian EPG

Downloaded now Russian EPG for yes1,2,3 Stars 1,2,3 and Isr1, Isr2. No blanks. Tell me when you see them.

Yep, with the new version it

Yep, with the new version it seems to be fine.
So either you fixed something or the guys at TV2DAY stopped sucking.

Anyway, thanks for the efforts and dedication, I love this app!

No I didn't fix anything, it

No I didn't fix anything, it must be tv2day.. Let me know ASAP when it happens again. Thx.

well it has been happening

well it has been happening for at least a week on different russian channels with the russian tv2day.

I'm back from my vacation

I'm back from my vacation now and will try to monitor it daily.

russian tv2day speaks hebrew...

I setup the application to use russian tv2day script only.
When I run Vista media-center Guide setup, after entering 00000 zip, it doesn't show me "MegaEPG" provider, but something like "luah shidurei yes..." in hebrew. If I select it, all the stuff is in hebrew only.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

You didn't install MegaEPG

You didn't install MegaEPG correctly. Did you run the setup and the megaepg for the 1st time before setting the Guide up in the media center?

i tried to...

I installed & configured the MegaEPG with few channels (full description), then I ran its grabber. After it finished I ran mediacenter and started its Guide-setup.
Perhaps the problem is that I used to run guide-setup before, and it "remebers" something?
Anyway, after I enter zip 00000, it connectes to the i-net and gives me a list of "providers" having 1 entry: "arutzei yes israel" (in hebrew), i.e. the "native" Yes/MS epg...

by te way, it is Vista-64bit

by te way, it is Vista-64bit

What megaepg version you are

What megaepg version you are using? There was a known bug in Vista 64 bit in older Megaepg versions.

I downloaded it 2 days ago,

I downloaded it 2 days ago, then it was the latest one.
Could you please tell me what key-points I can check? like where MegaEPG should store the grabbed info, where vista64 expects it to be, etc...
I'd like to try and resolve this problem "gracefully", before I format & resinstall all the system :)

1. Open the registry and

1. Open the registry and check out the key discSvc in Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\EPG. It should look like http://localhost...

2. Verify that the service mepgvs is running. If it is not, check the Event Viewer for possible errors/messages.

3. Check C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\MegaEPG\xml directory and ensure that the binary EPG file exists after the grabber has been executed.

Tell me what step from the above has failed.

Ok, now I see... For some

Ok, now I see...
For some reason, megaepg config does not update here discSvc value, so it points to some MS webservice (or whatever it is).
Could you please tell me the exact URL of the local service?

Thanks a lot!!

I reinstalled it now, and it

I reinstalled it now, and during uninstall it set the above value to:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=51438&clcid=0x409
During installation, it does not touch this value at all...

one more :)

after some investigation I found out that the installer updates discSVC at some other branch ("wow...something", it was discussed here, and - yes, it's latest version :) ).
It looks there like this: http://localhost:19679/epg/GetTvServicesMetaInfo
I tried to copy it to the right location but it does not help. The service is running and listening on TCP 19679...
Finally, I got lost totallly :)

got it!

Ok, I finally succeded.
Thank you again!

What was the problem?

What was the solution? Did you just copy the correct discSvc value from the wrong location? If yes, I should find and fix the bug for the 64 bit version.

There were 2 problems. 1)

There were 2 problems.
1) The discSVC is not set by megaepg installer (but for some reason, it _is_ reset to the default microsoft URL by the uninstaller). So I had to set it manually.
2) At the 1st stage, Vista's Guide setup tries to find out "correct" discSVC URL and always sets it to some MS-related service, ignoring the current value - I could not skip this stage. So I had to set the correct discSVC value _after_ the guide-setup set MS-realted value, but _before_ it tries to connect to this URL. I.e. at ZIP entering screen.

Okay. 2nd problem is a

Okay. 2nd problem is a feature :). It's a part of the mepgvs service that does not allow to change the discsvc value (Vista restores the original value on every msupdate run). So the only problem is the 1st one. I'll take a look...

Something happened to

Something happened to Channel-9 (Israel plus)... "No data available" - all the time :(
