Hi.
I am a Vista Ultimate 64 bit user . after installing the latest version of Mega EPG the media center still didn't recognize the MEGA-EPG file
I have tried to look at the instructions for the error 14 (although I didnt get error 14, just a suggestion from the mce to use a hot file from May which is worth nothing) and see you were suggesting to look for the html file in the data folder.
On my vista the data folder wasn't created in the Ehome/megaepg dircetory but in users/username/appdata/local/megaepg/data/ .
Also this original registry key didnt change :
discSvc https://data.tvdownload.microsoft.com/discovery/discoveryservice.asmx/Ge...
In vista 64 some registry kews are placed in a wow6432node for 32bit applications, I have found the following epg discsvc key : http://localhost:19679/epg/GetTvServicesMetaInfo
Assuming this one is related to mega epg I have copied it into the discsvc key under the normal mediacenter path , then I got error 14.
It seems that the connection between the media center and the Megaepg does not exist and I couldn't create it manually.
please help
I didn't test it in Vista 64
I didn't test it in Vista 64 bit so your experience is really valuable :)
Is mepgvs service running? (You can check that in the Services list)
If it is running, try to open the Internet Explorer at http://localhost:19679/log and tell me what's happening there
If the service is not running, the reason can be that Vista doesn't know the certificate the MegaEPG is signed with (In Vista 64bit all services must be signed). Install the certificate as described in http://pvr.co.il/certificates/index.html and restart (or try to start the service net start mepgvs).
MegaEPG on VISTA64 bit Working now
Hi. Thanks for your reply
The log was empty , and the service was runing , there was no need to manually sign it.
Here is what I did :
I had previously Bladerunner installed , keep key and another grabber which were useless , also IIS was intsalled for those to work.
Before Installing MegaEPG for the first time I made sure I uninstalled all those as well as disabling the Keepkey service.
Then installed MegaEPG which didn't work after all efforts described on my first post to you.
I rolled back the system to a time before all the previous grabbers and bladerunner , and installed MegaEPG on a "grabbel free system" from scratch.
Then asI I mentioned , in VISTA64 bit the megaepg registry key for disk SVC was placed in a :
Hkey_Local_machine/wow6432node/microsoft/windows/currentversion/mediacenter/service/epg
instead of
Hkey_Local_machine/microsoft/windows/currentversion/mediacenter/service/epg
So once manually copied ,MCE found the MegaEPG guide in the guide setup
I can't point out what was the exact problem but it seems that fresh installetion of Mega EPG without former grabbers + manually copying the discsvc key to the proper place will work.
Thanks
Now I am off to a new chalange which is finding a proper decoder for the 64bit mce which supports also DVD playback , so far no success.
It much likely seems as the
It much likely seems as the MegaEPG setup bug. Thank you!
