DVB-S and GeniaTech USB SatBox DVB-S

Hi,

I just bought a GeniaTech USB SatBox DVB-S to get the EPG.

I can Watch the free channels and Detect the encrypted ones (Using ProgDVB i can see the EPG data for the encrypted channels.).

I tested with "dvbtest.exe --yes" and i received stream.zip file.

Then i installed MegaEPG 1.3.1 selected the dvb-s script.

I read in the forums that megaepgw.exe has some bug so i used megaepg.exe file.

The problem is that MegaEPG hangs or cannot find shows for the channels.

Later today i will post the log file.

My questions are:
1) What is the recommended epg days to get when using dvb-s?
2) How long should it take to download the EPG?
3) Is there a way to get MegaEPG run on a central computer and set all of the other HTPC to use the EPG URL http://main-pc:19679, i tried it using internet explorer and i get 403 so it probebly blocking non localhost connections.
4) What DVB hardware are you using?
5) If you want to i can loan you the unit for testing.

1. It does matter, use

1. It does matter, use maximum days because the dvb script grabs a complete EPG anyways.
2. It can take 4-5 minutes and can take even longer if your card receives poor DVB packages with CRC errors. The log file will show the amount of errors.
3. In the next version I'm going to remove the problematic "localhost" binding but right now only localhost is accepted due to security reasons.
4. I'm using Twinhan DVB-S card
5. Let's see. There were successful reports about your card and I think it's ok to work with.

Something is wrong, you're losing much of information due to packet errors. You should check the connection and/or ask YES technician to add an amplifier.

Ok, i think ill give up on

Ok, i think ill give up on the dvb-s thing.

How can i make MegaEPG run on , my server and grab the EPG using the regular scripts like ynet, and make my HTPC use the downloaded data?

What i am going after is a Main server that grabs the EPG and my HTPC will take the epg from it using the vista service.

What do i need to change in the htpc in order to get it to work? can i just change the reg key with the url?
