Hi there,
I have a funny problem with MegaEPG and VMC. I installed as described and it started working nicely, updating every night at 4am. Now, for a couple of weeks it did not run (I was away and the machine was shut down). Now, it started running again; it reports that it retrieves channel data fine (ynet and/or HOT), however, strangely enough, VMC does not see this new data and says "no data available". GUIDE function is empty.
I can see that the cache files in the cache directory get updated, so apparently there's stuff there - but somehow VMC loses connection with this data update.
What am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much,
Doron
Try to move the guide
Try to move the guide forward for 12 hours or more, is it still empty? Try to update the guide manually after executing the MegaEPG.
It's empty :-(
The guide is completely empty (moved like 3-4 days forward, no data at all).
Not sure what you mean by update the guide manually? How do I do that?
Thanks!!
If I remember correctly,
If I remember correctly, it's in Settings/TV/Guide/Get The Latest Guide listings.
Check also Vista troubleshooting.
Well, 24 hours later
Well, 24 hours later (where the machine was off most of the time), the problem fixed itself without any intervention. I guess there's something in the process that I fail to understand - VMC updates itself from MegaEPG on its own schedule? Unrelated to the MegaEPG schedule? (as you might see already, I'm relatively new to MC, although very savvy otherwise).
Thanks for all your help, and for a great piece of software!
Doron
Yes, MegaEPG schedule is for
Yes, MegaEPG schedule is for downloading the guide from the Internet. VMC has its own internal schedule to update the guide within the VMC. That's why I suggested to update the VMC guide manually (Get Latest Guide Listings).
