no data available on some channels

Hi,

I am using the latest version, and sometimes I run into funny problems with the epg guide.
I use vista mc and some channels appear as "no data available".

Every time I clear the cache these channels change and different channels show "no data available". If I keep the cache, the channels where there is no data will not change.

When I run the gui version of megaepg, I do see that the programs downloads information of there channles, but for some reason mc is sure there is no data available for them.

Did anyone run into this ever?

Thanks,
Mikey

Got the same issue,

Got the same issue, regretably.
haven't been able to identify a pattern for this behavior.
using vista as well.
I have seen this problem in version 1.2.0 and will update to 1.2.1 today.

What script you're using?

What script you're using? Does the log file clearly indicates that NNN shows were downloaded for the channel you see "no data available" later?

I'm using vista_he script as 1st priority

and hot_he as 2nd priority.

channel 1 Israel is currently showing as no data (for today, it changes every 2 days or so) but the script states:
2008-02-02 09:02:36,631 INFO Script vista_he is processing day 2008-02-02 channel isr1
2008-02-02 09:02:36,654 INFO 2008-02-02: 183 shows have been processed for isr1

I can see other bugs in the script log as well, for instance:

2008-02-02 09:02:09,217 INFO Script vista_he is processing day 2008-02-02 channel bip
2008-02-02 09:02:09,217 ERROR No shows found for date 2008-02-02 for channel bip
2008-02-02 09:02:09,219 INFO Trying to get the channel with the next script 'hot_he'
2008-02-02 09:02:09,219 INFO Script hot_he is processing day 2008-02-02 channel bip
2008-02-02 09:02:09,346 WARNING Script warning 'Dates mismatch: XML date: 01/02/2008, requested date: 02/02/2008; ignoring'
2008-02-02 09:02:35,571 INFO 2008-02-02: 30 shows have been processed for bip
2008-02-02 09:02:35,588 INFO Next script has processed the missing channel

thanks a lot!

The log doesn't seem buggy,

The log doesn't seem buggy, it processes the channels as it should. And you still see "no data" for isr1 and bip?

yep, an n other channels too

as I mentioned, the problem doesn't seem to be in a specific channel all the time.
Sometimes it's one channel, sometimes its the other, and there doesn't seem to be a pattern to it either.

I noticed some other people have experienced the same phenomenon (In this post and in others).

thanks a lot,
Mikey

I'll debug it. Can I just

I'll debug it. Can I just know your script and days megaepg.ini parameters?

of course

vista_he as first priority
hot_he as second
4 days to grab

note that when running without cache everything seems to be fine - this might be the key to the solution.
I've switched caching off which makes everything much slower, but at least everything works perfectly for now.

thanks,
Mikey

one last thing

I tried running without caching for the last couple of days and everything works fine.
It's a problem with the caching system and not with the epg download itself.

Hope this helps,

Mikey

It is. But the primary

It is. But the primary problem is wrong EPG data on the Microsoft server for HOT, it makes a mess in the cache. Using no cache is one solution meanwhile, using the hot_he script only is another one. Thank you for helping to identify the problem!
